here was my thought process in the moments before watching Golden Cross Premiere episode: If you are poor, then it would be a relief. Then as I have nothing to worry about, to recap you. You might find be bad. It could be bad. Secure your writers wrote Gaksital , which I loved, but that was a historical action drama. Oh, she wrote Scales of Providence The taut legal thriller? And wait, and Green Rose ? Mist. What if you are good? I bet that you will be good and where I'm going.
Granted, I always show want to be good, but if it can not be good, I'd rather be horrible to save me, the fear out whether it recapitulate, or how that will happen. Fortunately-sad Golden Cross is good, I love a really solid, solid, beautifully shot thriller with complex characters and a lead pair already. Mist.

EPISODE 1 RECAP
We open on a festive atmosphere as family collects her son is sworn in as a prosecutor. Our hero of the hour (and drama) is KANG DO YOON ( Kim Kang-woo ) to see a good-natured young man from a happy middle class family. Manning the camera is its bubbly little sister HA YOON ( Seo min-ji ), and it calls the family together for a photo op.

These are not connected to each other, apparently, until we pull back and see that we are looking at a huge wall of television screens. Watch them all is a man whose face is hidden.
Three months earlier.
We are in the modest apartment of Kang family and it's birthday Dad. Cheery-Ha Yoon is the cheerleader while Do-Yoon her mother noticed dark face and tries to lighten her mood. Obviously, we have stepped into the middle of an ongoing problem
It comes soon enough. Dad is well ran to nothing younger brother (yet again) with more of their money, and Mom is particularly upset because she was on the verge of buying their own business. With Papa in a few years into his retirement, she had to open her hopes pinned on their own place to bring in money, and snapped at Dad when he assured them that he would take care of them. He fidgets and asks coyly to understand his wife, and let it go, but it is not in the mood and storms out. Then Do-Yoon its own can not frustration-Dad works at a bank! Can not he a credit or repair it somehow get?
Do-Yoon explains that when it is a full-fledged public prosecutor uncle behind bars, then storms out. His sister followed him to calm his temper, and he can not stay really crazy in the presence of their sweetness. Yi-reh Father SEO DONG HA ( Jung Bo-seok ) is a director of the Financial Policy Bureau, and he chats with his protégé MICHAEL JANG ( Eom Ki joon ), the PAX Korean branch president. I'm not quite sure what they are but basically: They deal in money, and a lot to do it. Michael is like a shark, suggesting pleasant to his old "teacher" that he give up his Hanmin Bank PAX.
Seo Dong-ha scoffs that the acquisition would be illegal, but Michael has only one value 0 billion Won to call him to change his tune. Michael says that they have a new investor and the sale will happen anyway, it's just that a section will take in this way, Seo Dong-ha.
So Seo Dong-ha sneaks to his in-law father-over, ex-minister Kim, and whispering in his ear. The old man looks over Michael and exchanged a nod. The deal is on.

At work, Dad Kang Ju-wan worries about some bank numbers specifically the BIS ratio of a bank's solvency is determined, which is currently in the safe zone. June 29, 1998 Seodong Bank. Inside citizens demonstrate against unfair credit practices of the Bank, while a crowd of riot police waiting for their orders. Dad is among the demonstrators.
The riot police sent and pandemonium breaks out. Seo Dong-ha and a team of bankers enter the bank, and Dad drops the Bank passkey to access. But Seo Dong-ha immediately see it and calls it from him. Dad refuses, pointing out that the higher-ups ruined things for everyone to their loyal employees order and now they are all pouring out.
Seo Dong-ha argues that this reorganization is the fastest way to revive the economy, and that they are all feel the pain together. Dad does not agree with the argument that the execs kickbacks took and never had to take responsibility for their actions. Why is the company but every loose cut the throats of their leaders to save?
Dad is beaten and taken down by the police. And as a result of his actions, he was charged with obstruction of justice and destruction of property, and even sent to prison. "Can you endure this nightmare again?" President Kwon asks.

Ha Yoon gets word that she is to leave immediately on her audition, so Do-Yoon she goes to the airport. He nags all the way there to worry about themselves, and send them with a worried face. They assured him that everything will work out, and gives him an encouraging fist bump.
Airborne, Seo Dong-ha seats next to Ha-Yoon, who is friendly and chatty. He seems pleased with her, which I find creepy in the extreme.
But Ha-Yoon thinks it little and comes in high spirits in Hong Kong, taking everything with wide eyes.
At home that night, Dad drinks soju, while his wife has a frustrating call with the woman whose business it is trying to buy, who wants the money soon. So when she asks Dad if it's really nothing he can do, he finds his conflict tearing at him. Do-Yoon to ask Dad steps in for a drink, and they head to out for a father-son chat.
Do-Yoon has wanted to loan itself and asks Dad to get a loan for the rest. It is a fairly large sum they require but Do-Yoon is frustrated that Papa says it is possible, without even trying, and pushes Dad what he borrow the money can do. COMMENTS
Right off the bat, what struck me was the issue of that show in that it didn 't feel as clunky exposition. A premiere episode will always be difficult to put on the exhibition, the volume of information that needs to be encouraged, but there are people who can skillfully convey information, and those who do not. Golden Cross has handed out a skilled hand in information and latest beats zooming, which are zoomable, cut in an efficient manner to the point of a scene that struck me as very, very promising.
After all: a drama of revenge in the world of finance set? We have seen it before, and could go in so many different directions, many of them poor. Done poorly, it could prove to be a complete yawn. But with sharp design done intelligently, suddenly even the most mundane details can be fraught with tension, and this drama has this capability. That, more than the story itself has occupied me. Not sniffing history itself; it's just that we hardly get it, that will remain to be seen that way. But if you know you are in good hands, trust goes a long way, so that to feel invested me and sinks in the world.
Everything, could not say make all smooth execution in the world up for characters I could not care, so I am glad that this love a cast that pulls me I already Kim Kang-woo from his previous work, but that was no guarantee that I would love him here.
