The murder case draws our neighborhood attorney from his wretched radio, and thank goodness for that, because he really seems with his crazy charisma and undeniable smarts in the hall. His return as disgraced prosecutor-turned-lawyer starts a little bumpy, but his moral compass is as straight as ever. Jo Deul-ho is back and he will not soon leave at any time, is not done until justice.
EPISODE 2 RECAP
We have a little rewind and our ex-prosecutor Deul-ho decidedly the steps for the first time in three years seen marching to the court. He has beautiful beige trench coat, suit and tie, hair styled and cleaned prickly. There is no trace of his former homeless and neglected self.
A series of flashbacks running through his head, and we learn that Deul-ho knows who is the real culprit in the murder and arson case that he is about to take over: the son of chairman Jung , the powerful man behind Deul-ho fall. Deul-ho friend Il-gu was to take son on the case for the Chairman Jung, and Deul-hos Whistleblowing tendencies as a prosecutor cost him his career, but this time he is losing again as a lawyer with nothing.
He breaks into the courtroom as the trial is about to begin and announces that he is the lawyer of the defendant; he holds a signed document to justify his presence. Lawyer Ji-wook is shocked by Deul-ho of the return and the defendant lawyer, our novice lawyer Eun-jo is thrown by this random individual. It turns out that the defendant, Mr. Byun agreed to have represented him Deul-ho to give Eun-jo and Deul-ho counselor. She has flabbergasted by this sudden turn of events.
The process starts with Ji-wook with a count of arson and murder in 2013 death of Mr. Noh charging Byun, who was from Byun colleague acquaintance homeless shelter. Ji-wook argues that Byun killed him in a drunken, rage-fueled argument and lit the victim's body on fire.
Deul-ho and Eun-jo at the same time stand up both to dismiss the charge, and it could no longer awkward and uncoordinated. Deul-ho looks familiar to Eun-jo and it finally dawns on them, as they know him, he was the homeless man for whom she bought five rounds of ribs!
A crime scene investigator is brought to the state, to share his thoughts. The researcher explains that the fire originated from the first floor and the second floor, although charred, was not nearly as damaged or flames. Byun burns on his back could only happened by falling debris that puts him right at the scene of the crime in the first floor of the building.
It is the turn of the defense for cross-examination and Deul-ho is in front of Eun-jo can. He looked a little uncertain as his assistant Ae-ra enters the room and offers him a "struggle" of encouragement. We see that they had eased moments before his nerves with pep talk. because of a fire on the first floor
Deul-ho begins to ask the investigator if anyone would immediately jump out of a window on the second floor. He claims that this is a frightening fact and would most likely happen as a last resort option. Would not he want to evaluate the severity of the fire on the first floor, before the path of the destination? And it is not possible to be debris fell as he walked amid the chaos of flames and down the stairs, smoking?
Deul-ho succeed refute Ji-wook claim that injuries from the fire could never happen on the second floor. The researcher is convinced that in a burning building caught people other would explore, safer methods of escape; would jump out a window her first instinct is not. He also agrees that it is possible Byun his injuries could have suffered while moving frantically between floors. It looks like Deul-ho got his groove back, that is ... until it to the prosecution side of the courtroom and sits almost at the top of Ji-wook, much to the amusement of the room.
A man who knew Byun from the homeless shelter is on the stand, and he claims that Byun was an easy target because of its gentle nature. The victim would always harass Byun or steal his money. The man Byun remembers his desire expressed to kill the victim, but the man thought it does the alcohol talking was. Ji-wook steps and explained that five years ago, Byun fire had set for his own restaurant after his business Shutter be forced.
Murmurs of surprise and disapproval throughout the room distributed. This prior transgression messages to Eun-jo, and the prosecution succeeds in painting Byun guilty. When Deul-ho and Eun-jo exit to the court, they are met by a crowd of reporters and photographers. Eun-jo is surprised to see them, but that's all part of Deul-ho plan for psychological warfare. Ae-ra, pretending to be a reporter, gets the ball rolling and it has details to share at the event as well as its return. In a deliberate act of showmanship explains Deul-ho triumphantly into the camera, he will prove the defendant's innocence. When asked if he has evidence, he radiates smugly and responds with a question: Does he have the evidence or he does not?
he is restless at home, watches Chairman Jung the interview and by Deul-ho return. Chief Prosecutor Shin enters the room and noticed Deul-ho in the news; his face frozen. The telecast represents Deul-ho Eun-jo and has to tell her a few words about Geum San firm. With a booming voice and wild gestures, announces Deul-ho his return not as a prosecutor but as a lawyer, and explains that he is working with Geum San to free the accused. Chairman Jung and crew are not very pleased about reemergence Deul-hos and Chairman Jung told the chief prosecutor of Deul-ho rid.
Ji-wook is confident that he can win this case, but chief prosecutor Shin warns him that Deul-ho is a force to be reckoned with , Ji-wook takes offense, which sounds like Chief Prosecutor Shin distrust in his ability. He rejects the offer its employees, beef and insisted that he does not need extra help.
proposes Chairman Jung a deal with Deul-ho former father-in-law cared Attorney Jang, the Geum San firm. Deul-ho wants Mr. Byun speaking friends or family members to see if one of them would be willing to testify or help his case, but Byun rejects the idea ; his family is taboo because he caused enough pain with his bad decisions.
Attorney Jang to have jobs Eun-jo-chief, lawyer Kim, an associate spy on Deul-ho and report on any findings, so he assigns this task to Eun-jo. She thinks that this is an invasion of privacy, but she has no choice but to comply.
Deul-ho and Ae-ra struggle to push filled with office an old cart provides a series of steps and into ... the Office of the loan shark Dae - Soo! They come unannounced and in Dae-soo home office. Dae-soo is confused and tries to protest, but Deul-ho insists he will stay for one month only and in turn keep Dae-soo shady practices under wraps.
Late at night, pores Deul-ho about documents and thinking back to the night of Il-gu accident. He was in the back of an ambulance driving, frantically pushing a bloody and unconscious Il-gu to hang in there. Back to the present, Deul-ho clutches the key and sees them carefully before heading to the site where the murder and arson took place. Once there, he goes to a flashlight to check its surroundings and imagine how the events unfolded that fateful night in 2013

It leaves the body inside the building and set it on fire to conceal the crime as fire. Meanwhile Mr. Byun has to sleep on the second floor. Deul-ho imagines Il-gu is reassuring hand on his shoulder as he continues to piece together what happened. The following day, Eun-jo indicates Deul-ho makeshift office to keep an eye on him, but it's all too obvious for Deul-ho; he knows Geum San has their attitude tabs on him. Eun-jo offers him a ride to where he heads, but they get almost in an accident because it is a new driver, and he spends the whole trip on they cry, fearing for his life.

In a chic traditional Korean restaurant, has Chairman Jung dinner with Chief Prosecutor Shin and Ji-wook. It turned out Ji-wook's chief prosecutor Shin son. Chairman Jung asks for the case he is working on, and Ji-wook alleged that Mr. Byun is 100% guilty, and he is confident that he will beat Deul-ho. Chief Prosecutor Shin feels uncomfortable, knowing that Byun is not the culprit. Ji-wook steps out of a call to take, and it is of Deul-ho ex-wife Hae-Kyung. He is happy to hear that they will come to Korea.
Chairman Jung troubled by the fact that Deul-ho knows his son the real murder perpetrators. Ji-wook overheard Chairman Jung asked his father if Jo Deul-ho can be defeated, in fact in this case. Chief Prosecutor Shin sighs and says that he is missing his son will cover. He is not sure, Ji-wook can win the study, and none of them can Deul-ho extraordinary ability to refuse. The next morning, as Eun-jo reported their findings regarding Deul-ho, their chief lawyer Kim had the photos taken the dark figure steals through while spying of Deul-ho. Nothing in the report or the photos seems to occupy him except when he lands on a picture of Deul-ho to Detective Kim speak.
Eun-jo has with her mother's dinner, who says that her stepfather would Eun-jo to come live with them. Eun-jo falls, they say their current life situation like. She spills to her mother that she really wants to do well on her first case, but Deul-ho's crazy antics drive her nuts.
All photos of different tire tracks spread the scene to Deul-ho desk; it finds all of them looking for clues. The next morning, Ji-wook sprints on the treadmill, thinking furiously back to talk with the chairman Jung his father. His own father does not believe in him, which makes him win even more determined when the process continues.
Shortly before the hearing Deul-ho starts at Mr. Byun drilling, what to say in court. To the real culprits are detected, Byun has to be an eyewitness and to be able to tell everything he saw that night. Byun protests saying he saw and remembered nothing but Deul-ho told to focus him the story, he slept provides Byun-when he smelled something burning. He woke up, went to the next window for fresh air and looked in his 20s man get in a sports car and drive away. You suddenly realize that Deul-ho knew who the real culprit was the whole time, so his assurance that Byun is innocent. She is frustrated that Deul-ho has not filled in on everything despite their co-counsel relationship.
Everyone returns to the courtroom, and Byun recited verbatim what taught him Deul-ho, albeit a shaky bit. When he mentioned the sports car, this triggers a memory and Byun actually remembers to see a sports car; his eyewitness starts to sound more convincing.
Deul-ho stands up and explains how Byun defendant in this case was, as it is actually a witness. Nobody believed him, despite his honest account of what has happened. Instead, people turned to show him in the perpetrator of his criminal record and the burns on his back. If people had formerly belonged to his testimony, the culprit would be caught now. Deul-ho draws attention to the TV monitor, which provides all the photos of different tire tracks from the scene to show. The answer, he says, is in these photos.
Ji-wook not Byun sudden attack of clarity and its detailed eyewitness report, believes that if by this time Byun memory was so unreliable. He asks Byun when someone that fake story made him memorize, and he just looks at Deul-ho, while waiting for an answer. Ji-wook pushes Byun answer whether he was fed lies.
to suddenly Byun screws and screams that he saw everything clearly, he said he did. No one believed his eyewitness account at the beginning, and each gave him an arsonist and murderer to be. His indignation rises, Byun claimed that Deul-ho was the only one who believed him and his innocence. Eun-jo and Ji-wook are at a loss for words as Byun thanks Deul-ho. This is a new page of Byun that nobody has seen before, and it looks like he really means what he says this time; he finally stands on his innocence. Maybe he really is the eyewitness Deul-ho hoped for?

I really enjoyed the balance of humor and drama in this episode, and I'm not surprised in the least, that Deul-ho is the one that will provide both. He understands the seriousness of the case and takes his work very seriously, but it is above something as stupid as does his job to help, citing theatricality and people disturb that attacked him and sent him to jail.
Eun-jo is a perfect foil for Deul-ho. She is such a novice in the courtroom. When they conducted their cross-examination, I could not help but wince. Apparently was the choice of your words carefully, but it was hard to follow their thoughts and the links they wanted to do. I was relieved when Deul-ho interrupted her. Eun-jo is quick to jump to conclusions and their thinking is quite simple, but I love her indomitable spirit! It is bossed around at work, but she's tough and treated them well. It is also not a wallflower, and I like that she is talking to. Eun-jo is almost too common compared to Deul-ho, but the two shares morality of a similar nature. Their hearts are in the right place, and at the appropriate time, I am sure that Eun-jo to learn how to be a smart lawyer like Deul-ho.
I am relieved as Deul-ho someone so smart, loyal, has and trustworthy as Ae-ra on his side. She is such a scene-stealer as Deul-ho right hand woman. Together they are such a dynamic duo. The cart scene was hilarious and so ridiculous; I loved every minute of it.
I must admit that this murder and fire is not the most exciting, because the defendant is so frustrating, we have yet to see our perpetrators, Chairman Jung Son, and the courtroom scenes are not all that dramatic. However, I am sure that this will change now that Deul-ho is back in action, introductions are over, and the case is now in motion. Deul-ho is dead-set on Byun absolving and catch the culprit, and I'm curious to see.
Very little has been shown in relation to Deul-ho ex-wife Hae-Kyung and her daughter, and I'm curious to find out more about the discord that the couple moved apart. There are still many unanswered questions, and I know we are only at the tip of the iceberg. I like what I see so far, but I'm ready for more. More Drama more hijinks, more cases and more Deul-ho!
