TVN new Ghostbusting Drama is strange, irreverent, dark hilarious, and I absolutely love it. The world is set up creepily funny and strange characters are strange and bizarre, and yet I find myself them immediately like. It's hard to describe this show in words; You really only have to see it for yourself.
EPISODE 1 RECAP
A young man strolls down a busy street, and is done by a police officer in an alley purse snatcher hunted to see. Without hesitation, he runs after them, and he says that there are many different types of people in this world, like cops and thieves. The policeman is stopped by an overturned trash can, but the young man is easy hurdles and sets off in pursuit.
But if the thief trips and falls, the young man jumps over him and it goes so on. Below pushed down the street people aside, as if from another runner, but ... there's no one driving them. Suddenly a black cloud materialized, and condensed into the spirit of a very angry looking man.
He hisses a cloud of black fog on the young man and turns away when the young man's narrative continues: "And ghosts There are even ghosts that exist in this world," He the mind.. follows an abandoned warehouse, where he proposes it in the face.
The young man is our hero PARK BONG-PAL ( Taecyeon ) can see a struggling student who spirits not only, but they can actually physically touch. he tried to avoid letting them know a female spirit that he sees it as his teeth one morning brush, but he has the worst Pokerface and she is totally on him.
she breathes her stink breath at him and he smells it, and all of a sudden it is not as dangerous as that hurt whining sitting on his bathroom floor. Pwahaha. you promises never to come back, respectfully bowing poofing out of existence.
Bong Pal stated that he did not not meets girl, it hits spirits . He does not have much money, so it is rented as an exorcist - but do not use all mystical tactics he suggests only the manure from the ghosts until they leave their elected haunting grounds.
We see how he directs to a club room and finds himself face to face with a massive spirit, looks ready to rumble, and Bong-pal goes pale and flees. "Of course, I suggested only the weak on." HAHA. His goal is to make ₩ 100 million (approximately US $ 870,000), but it still has to go a long way. He holds to take on harder spirits and raise prices.
A strange-looking monk Myung-Chul ( Kim Sang-ho ), trips by bus, a small child with his smile alarmed and off at a funeral. Bong-pal seems to be a confirmed loner, he still project in the school turns another group down. He eats alone lunch sighing and smiling as he watches a pretty girl to study across the yard. His reverie disturbed by classmates CHUN SANG ( Kang Ki-young ) and IN RANK ( Lee David ), the notice the pretty girl and wonder how it would be far someone like her ,
hasBong-buddy never met Sang and priority over (ha, whose names I crack up), and it flashes only when asked Sang if he believes in ghosts. Sang says that there is much darkness to Bong-mate, and tells him in a spooky voice that ghosts are all around - in fact, it is a moment behind him. But when Bong-mate turns to look, Sang grabs his face and cries not to turn around.
They offer dramatic light in Bong-mate to bring life when joining their club, GhostNet. Bong-pal says still no word, but only gives a withering look and walks away.

Bong-pal is done via their online live feed, as they are school input, and recognizes the two oddballs from earlier in the day. They are hilarious and awkward screamy, but if they prove that they are really on the famous Haunted School, their audience starts to climb rapidly.
you begin to crawl around the school to see a spirit of hope and live film, but above all they themselves only scare. As they can be in a classroom, a blurry female ghost watching them from down the hall, but the guys do not see them. You go to the lab, where they recognize the class skeleton and have nearly identical attack, again all the actual spirit in the corner is missing.
Bong-pal watches from his home, always so into it that he has stupid fear when Monk Myung-Chul knocks on his door ... oh, they are friends. He hastens to use Bong-pal toilet while Bong-pal some soup makes sharing. He asks why Myung-Chul seems less work lately, and Myung-Chul says that he just take a break.
Myung-Chul asks if Bong-pal keeps his promise to stay away from spirits, and Bong-pal fibs, which it is. Myung-Chul delivers a letter of Bong-pal father to persuade him fuss, without telling his father where he is.

A cat jumps out and scares the bejeezus out of them (and me, whew ), and they go screaming down the hall and all the way out of the school gate. They are long through time, Bong-pal is coming off, and he runs at school looking for the mysterious person who texted him. He sees a girl in the uniform of the school are in a classroom in front of a computer, and immediately, it is the spirit he is here to banish.
scares him directly appear beside him, and he warns them that it does not just go to the female ghost. He grabs her in a headlock while she yells that she did not mind he's here for, but he ignored her cries and scrolls them on their backs.
She laments weak that it can be a spirit, but that still hurt, then deceives chest pain when Bong-buddy again threatens to beat her up. It is enough that he is worried and leans out to see, and once he is within reach, the Spirit puts it in his eyes and jumps up.
You explained it etc. now, and just all Bong-pal attempts evades to beat her. She throws him over her back and halfway down the hall, then jumps to sit up on his shoulders and knock him over the head. Bong-pal pushes them away, and they both roll at the end on the floor, fists in the hair other.
The spirit that defies gravity by spin up and over on Bong-pal sitting chest and clap him, then his hair again grabs and bites his head. Haha, I love them already.
She gets the better of him, and sends him home from school bruised and bloody stumble. She threatens to kill him if he ever comes back, but by the look on Bong-pal face that is far from over.
The Spirit, whose name in life was KIM HYUN-JI ( Kim So-hyun ), finds its ghostly friend KYUNG-JA (Virgin spirit which is all about the man they hang crushing on, hee) about the strange guy to complain they met tonight. Kyung-ja fears that she killed someone, which means they will not be "elected", but Hyun-ji promises made him beat the crap easy. Heh.
They fear that time is running short for Hyun-ji, the find must ... something ... that they studied for five years been. She wonders why she is stuck on Earth, go either to heaven or to hell, and Kyung-ja exposits that either a score to settle, and was killed unjustly.
But all Hyun-ji knows her life is her name, and even that's because she's on her uniform nameplate. She tried a high school student to find them, but has not had any luck. Kyung-ja might think Hyun-ji pending their college entrance exams takes -. They originally met as Hyun-ji came to take the test without knowing she was dead
Monk Myung-Chul complains of the lack of meat at breakfast, and noticed Bong-pal smashed-up face. Bong-pal Skirts his questions, but questions his own about female ghosts ... why are they so strong? Myung-Chul says that female ghost for revenge are usually here, but before he revealed their weakness, he finds out that Bong-mate to have been beaten by a ghost.
He fusses that Bong-pal promised, but Bong-pal replies when Myung-Chul had to this one time not confused, this would not have happened. Myung-Chul complained that the spirit was too strong, Bong-pal urges him to defend him to help himself.
go to an abandoned apartment building where Myung-Chul takes a drunken male spirit, and he says Bong-mate that you have to look closely to see her weakness. HAHA, he is not even on the ghost who just stares at him, as he says, it is a child must be by the feel of his energy. Not nearly.
Myung-Chul starts throwing rice, and when it strikes the drunken spirit in the face it seems to burn him, and he gets angry. He begins to snort black smoke, and Myung-Chul screaming for Bong-mate, but leaving Bong-mates already disgusted.
Sang and rank after last night fiasco, delete all the negative comments on its website and decide to try school again that night , This time they put some stationary cameras and hide in a closet in their viewers promising that they will not leave until they see a real spirit.
Bong-pal comes in school (with a huge sword, ha) ready for battle. Hyun-ji's school, look through yearbooks, to see if they visited here with no luck. She grins as she hears Bong-mate storm into the building and down a challenge with a swing of his sword.
They appear in his place and waved past him and goes ~ Poof ~ when he lowers his sword to the head. You poofs back and kicks him in the ass, then behind him appear behind him and knocking him down. She plays with Bong-mate for one minute, then goes to him thoroughly possess.
At one point, they grapple and together down the stairs in the dryer, compressed with Bong-pal up on Hyun-ji and her lips to stop. Bong-pal jumps looking unnerved during random kiss seems something else in Hyun-ji to have stirred.
you suddenly remembers lying on the road, the rain under the head, falling as pools of blood. She hears screams and sees a building with a sign reading "Academy of Language Arts."
Bong-pal misunderstands their shock and begins to stutter that he did not mean it, but if he says she kissed probably a lot of people who have snapped out of it and she jumps up, outraged. He sneers at her - was that her first kiss? Hyun-ji is a lopsided grin, and snapped, "That's right. It was my first kiss, you bastard!" And so she flies across the room and plants her knee right into Bong-pal family jewels.
Sang Bong and rank-mates tormented cry, but if nothing else it happens to go to their vigil back. You, so that they are not looking, when an angry-looking spirit finally emerges some research on the people who have died from this school on their cameras.
In the broom closet Sang feels somewhat on his neck, and turns a menacing black mist seeps into the room to see. He looks up and whines as the mind directly into his face appears, and the boys with the spirit in hot pursuit run screaming.
The run right past Bong-pal and Hyun-ji, who also cry when they see the terrifying female spirit. Hyun-ji is turning into a hall, while Bong-pal follows in the elevator Sang and rank, and they just barely manages to get the doors closed before the mind can get in.
boys wilted with relief, but only for a second, then the hand of the ghost the doors comes by and picks Bong-mate on the throat. The elevator doors open again and Bong-pal suggests her right in the face, they seem to further annoy. When she sits up, she's got a man's face. What now?
With a frightening look on his face, he turns to Hyun-ji seek, peeking from a corridor nearby to them. Bong-pal can her face and looked pleadingly at him, but close the elevator doors and there is nothing to see what he can do.
The boys finally escape the building and rank says that the male spirit was an English teacher who died in school eighteen years ago. He had peeking in the bathroom to a girl, and when she threw something at him, he fell and hit his head. If Bong-pal hears this he goes back to school.
It's a good thing because Hyun-ji is no match for the strong male spirit, and he raises it slightly by the neck and throws them down hard enough to break a table. can he hovers over her, but before he again Bong-mate turns on the light and calls, touch "Hey, pervert bastard!"
he throws his sword and plunges the mind, but finds turned and thrown across the room. The next thing you know he is on his knees the spirit beg for mercy, ha, and he himself has helping out where Hyun-ji hidden. When the mind looks on, Bong-mate tried to kick him between the legs, but the mind snaps his knees on Bong-pal walk to and lifts him into the air.
See Bong-pal to lose this fight, Hyun-ji jumps in and this time, her well-placed foot lands exactly where they planned. The Spirit cries so loud it wakes the napping guard, and rages inside the fight.
How the Spirit throttles Bong-pal, Hyun-ji sees a glowing red spot on the back of his head - his weakness. She and Bong-pal cooperate to throw him off, and at one point Hyun-ji tells Bong-buddy, "Hit the back of his head" Bong-buddy grabs his sword and creates a solid hit right on the vulnerability of the spirits and he disappears in a puff of black smoke.
The struggle over, Bong-pal and Hyun-ji exchange names, and each admits grudgingly that the other in fighting is not so bad. Bong-buddy asks if Hyun-ji knows who hired him, and she looks shifty eyes, as she says she has no idea. Riiight.
Bong-pal numbers immediately out that her and demanded his payment. She complains that she has no money, they just promised him what he wanted, because she was afraid of this spirit. They argued that he did not catch his own anyway and they bicker morose and divided in a huff. Bong-pal found the police against, as he leaves the building, and Huch, the damage their struggles on the building has not look bad.
When Kyung-ja later Hyun-ji takes them to see something different about Hyun-ji lips. Hyun-ji says she pushed into something and suddenly some things in mind, but now she has forgotten. Kyung-ja advises her only to push what was it again, ha.

COMMENTS
So cute. I like the tone of the show really so far - it is a little dark and spooky, but it does not go so far as actually to be scary. It undercuts his own terrifying moments of unexpected humor and mitigates the horror aspects with a fun kind of morbid, almost comic silliness that I find engaging. The balance is very even - it's scary, where it should be scary, but it's never really frightening , if that makes sense. The show did not create a very large or complex world at this point, but I'm not complaining, because it might work if it keeps the focus on the characters and their personal questions. The only thing I expect left learn more about how all the ghost stuff works.
I like Taecyeon in the role of Bong-mate who seems his sense of comedic timing to be used in such a manner as to cover weaknesses for his acting, and maximizes its very good natural radiance. He is not the strongest player, that's no secret, but I have always found engaged him when he was asked not too much to do on a dramatic scale. His strength is his likability and personality (not those adorable ears to remain silent), and this character seems tailor-made for him so far, these qualities could make the best use. I kind of love that Bong-pal has such a fighting spirit, though he is not really that good of a brawler, but at least he knows it and does not get himself into tussles with ghosts he can not handle.
Hyun-ji is also a great character, although I admit I placed each character of Kim So-Hyun played like, since it is so good. I love that Hyun-ji is a strong woman both physically, to speak in "Spirit" so, and I think she and Bong-pal a fun kind of frenemy energy right off the bat. I love their quarrels, and their knock-down-drag-out fights even more, and I hope they are not too fast friends. they argue Watching is the best - if the expression of Hyun-ji to remember things about her past when she kissed accidentally a nice twist, and an interesting way to bring the two back together.
I will address the elephant in the room, just this once, because I know some people by bothered then I plan to put aside. There are ten years between Taecyeon and Kim So-hyun, but since the characters (listed Hyun-ji as 19 when she died, and Bong-mate is in school, so it is more than 24) even close in age, I'm making the conscious choice to consider them as their characters, not the actors themselves. I had hoped that the action would be more oblique angle toward the friends / partners, but at least at first (does not concern the grounds of age only, because I think that would make dynamic fun), but the show seems to go straight to be in romance. But I'm personally not that bothered by it because actors to play characters, and the characters are close in age, and I prefer a show to judge on its merits and not personally to the actor.
Speaking of characters, Sang and rank can only be my new favorite thing. You are absolutely ridiculous and nerdy, but they are committed to their passion of hunting ghosts and and I adore them. It was so hilarious, as they have each other as would be said in this school about things like a bottle of water, but it could be that under the bumbling they really believe what they are doing. They may be cowards, but they are determined to cowards. I can not wait, they with Bong-pal a team and get some real spirits kick ass.
So basically my first impression is very good. I like the world, although I think it needs a bit more buildings, and I feel bound immediately to the mark. I find myself a little withhold possibly due to lack of information about how all the ghosts stuff works, and I feel like when the next Follow us some more information on this front then we are good to go. I'm ready for some solid, no-protect spooky Battling!
