COMMENTS
I'm so relieved that director Hong survived because his character seemed to have "death" , written all over him. Granted, the show has completed only half its course, so it nor wrote "death" of him. I hope that if the writer chooses to let him die, his death will not be used as a plot point to promote the hospital policy. Rather, I would much prefer a moment of character growth for Ji-hong, and a reflection on the death and loss. Speaking of hospital policy, they continue to be a weak point, compared to the overall story, but hopefully when Tae-ho enters into the fight and starts to be more active in this plotline, my interest is also rising.
I felt like an episode 10 weaknesses was the overly dramatic and produced voltage. For me it was very prominent during Director Hong practice scene. I thought the conflict between Tae-ho and Yoon-do was interesting because I could both relate, and have seen (in other medical dramas , so correct me if I'm wrong) things as the road ahead. So, I think it's the director, not the writer or actor that is responsible for the poor implementation of this scene. It was represented as this exciting event where Yoon-do and Tae-ho are butting heads while a patient lies on the operating table, metaphorically, between them.
Given the nature of Tae-ho character, it is obvious that he would quickly recognize his mistake and apologize. So the tension feels forced, because this situation is not fighting over Yoon-do and Tae-ho each other, but rather, Yoon-do faced Tae-ho about its internal strife. It seems that Tae-ho was, almost unconsciously, to dictate the operation, because he wants to do it himself, but emotionally could not because the patient is someone he deeply admired. As a result of the outbreak of Yoon-do helped Tae-ho waive its need to intervene as a surgeon and ask his faith as any other guard in another doctor.
I appreciated the conflict between Hye-young and Ji-hong in the final scene, and thought concerns Hye-jung were valid. Ji-hong tells her always to change and learn how to rely on others, but it sets its own difficulties to bottled hold. Ji-hong might think this is a non-issue, but I agree with Hye-young, that this needs to be addressed if they are to start from. The underlying problem is hinting is Hye-jung, the imbalance of power in their relationship, the Ji-hong probably noticed less than Hye-young, because he was always the one in power. During their performance effort in their previous relationship as teacher and student might have been appropriate, it will be problematic (especially to Hye-young), if they want to move to a romantic relationship. Despite Ji-hong many brave deeds, his interactions with Hye-young are colored with a teacher quality.
I think Hye-jung, the final statement of a good person is not necessarily a good man or a woman is valid for both of them means. Just because Hye-jung has tried to be a good person, this does not mean that she thinks she is a good woman. Conversely, just because Ji-hong is a good person, that does not mean that he is a good person for them. Therefore, it seems like a natural break in their courtship to confront this problem and to know each other better.
