I think I'm a little traumatized. I can not imagine a scenario in which Jung-do own is good for Sung-il, but this has never been a show where I could predict the next train. This is the hope that I clung to me because if Jung-do just crossed twice Sung-il for real - his higher purpose no matter how high - I'm going to be majorly pissed. In this turn of events, the only thing that could save this show of mine anger, Sung-il would be a coat on Jung-do and get all the money back. I think Sung-il and I both made with people it for granted! But to my personal (and violent) aside feelings, that's exactly how conmen work. Jung-do helped Sung-il tax evaders to catch and faithfully deposited all the money in their income tax accounts, building Sung-il, the confidence in him over time. Sung-il fired from the same fraud on Min-ah. He obviously understands the principle but refused to apply it to his own situation.
While I love that Sung-il get so good at scamming evil tax evaders, the world is very black and white for our beloved ajusshi. It is the Bang family who are fair game because they hurt people, and then there's Jung-do, who is trustworthy, because he is a friend and has already helped him. It is very to believe character for Sung-il, Jung-do when he says that he was just about the Machiavellian treachery plan just kidding. But aside from its familiarity, Sung-il is in alien territory, depending entirely on the guidance of an experienced native. When Jung-do was, Sung-il would have nowhere to go. Therefore, Jung-do does not have to lie. It's almost a survival instinct at this point.
