death leaves no person without prejudice and there is no way to predict how might react when death touches someone. Since this episode underlines acts loss for all of us, and can do different things to different people. Our characters react to some unexpected ways to loss, and I want it not only had to take such a tragedy to achieve that.
EPISODE 17 RECAP
After leaving Chang min's father's room, Jin-hee is numb in one when she the hospital alone walks by. She is sitting in the emergency break room, Dad's last words to remind her that he can die happy, because he has seen Jin-hee doctor. She holds her white coat and badge and eventually collapses.
Ah-reum comes at work and takes a call from Yong-Gyu. She chirps brighty at him, teasing that he would come today to work better, then suddenly gets serious and asks him where he is.
The head nurse takes a phone call, and informed the doctors that Yong-Gyu is in an ambulance to the emergency room to take on the way to a severe beating. Seeing him in the wheel, it is covered with blood, and in a semi-comatose state.
The doctor asks Ah-Reum, if they know what happened, but she says that he was fine when she him in at the bar the night before left. Ji-hye treats him, muttering that Chang-min's father just died, and now this. What. For a great start to the day
Chang-min is at his father's funeral, greet guests, while, as if he hardly has together adheres. He told his aunt and uncle to comfort his mother, because she has a harder time that when he is.

The rest of the trainees also go to pay their respects, but Chang-min says that he is doing well and they should go to work despite not evident in the ever fine. Chun-soo tells her that even though he knew the man personally, he was highly regarded. He advises her to not to try to keep their grief back.
Chang-min Uncle closes at the funeral him and asks if he knows why his father is a doctor to quit. He says that married shortly after Chang-min, a patient died during surgery. His father had done his best, but the patient had asked him not to tell his family that he was sick. The patient's family blamed Chang-min's father anyway, and allowed to doubt himself.
Chang-min says he never knew, and never thought why his father had quit his doctor to ask. His uncle says he to tell him, because he does not want to blame him for not being able to save his father, or even to give up on themselves. Chang-min only listens and quietly cries.
Chang-min aunt tried to get to eat his mother, crying that she is worried that she and Chang-min, both to get sick if they themselves do not care. Mom gives himself only a few Soju. She remembers when her husband told her to be healthy and take care of themselves, and the time they eat all went crabs, and he asked to respect their siblings and take care of them.
Jin-Hee comes back with her mother, who pay their relationship with Chang-min's father, as a guest this time. Chang-min mother told Jin-hee mother that she need not come, but thanks to her sincerely. Jin-hee mother knows how she must feel, having lost her husband, and says she knows how hard it so much hurting and yet live. Chang-min mother thanks her again and then stop Jin-hee to thank her. It is so soft and sincere, that Chang-min breathes a sigh of relief.
After the funeral, Chang-min visited his father's office. He finds a box with his father fishing gear in him and remembers that Dad had asked him to go soon to fish with him. He sees the calendar with his birthday circled in red, and bursts into loud sobs tears.
In Hospital Ji-hye is on the phone with the father of her daughter. She is angry and said that they like children asking money for something not hard, but to get a blood test performed on him. He depends on her and she turns to a stone-faced Chun-soo, who found behind her.
He asks in a too controlled voice, what kind of bastard, the guy who is sacrificing his own child. Ji-hye says he has nothing to her, but he is still the father of her child, so Chun-soo should observe how he speaks about the man.
The ER director breaks the news to Chun-soo that he is suspended for punching Professor Ahn. Ahn wanted Chun-soo fired but was convinced to settle for the suspension and a pay cut, just because he wanted to wear not the ER itself in itself.

Chun-soo comes running and throws water on Jin-hee jacket to extinguish the fire. He stares for a moment, then reached over to gently wipe with a smudge of soot of Jin-hee face. The nervous tension seems to break and he smiles at her.
After dinner, they have to make coffee and small talk about the food, and Jin-hee suddenly asks Chun-soo, why he was not married. He says he is not sure, but she wonders if it is because of his parents. This is cumbersome Chun-soo looking again as an answer, and everything he comes with a throaty, "Is that it?" It is Ah-Reum, to get even outside Chang-min door and more and more concerned. Jin-hee rushes place to Chang-min, on the porter lying to his wife to bring us to him or her, we have to. Jin-hee gets himself a drink, but stops when she reached for a glass. In a glass on the table is her wedding ring, her sister and pledged Chang-min repurchased. Before she can collect her thoughts, Chang-min comes out of his room, and she tells him that Ah-reum to check on him, no longer.
Chang-min says he for the way he feels bad Ah-reum treated. Instead of answering, Jin-hee just holding her hand out to him. With her wedding ring into her palm
COMMENTS
If all is well come from Chang-min's father illness and decay, it is that ultimately people seem to be their focus, to make each other to peace turning. Chang-min and Jin-hee speak more kindly with one another, and Chun-soo seems to try to understand Chang-min attitude towards him. The mothers had to see a nice moment of peacemaking, which was very nice. Death can either bring people together or tear them, and I love that the legacy of Professor Oh be an understanding and caring for each other. He can not have been a warm and fuzzy kind of person, but it was clear that he wanted to take care of their loved ones for each other, and I was glad to see the ceremony.
The greatest change occurs in Chang-min's mother, who seems to really make an effort to treat people better. Makes you thank a point Jin-hee for trying to save her husband, when I was so afraid that she for his death would blame Jin-hee. She also tells Jin-hee, how much he cared for her, and I would like to believe that they will take this knowledge to heart and see that Jin-hee's really a person who should respect them well and treat. It is important that these technical for many history reasons happen, but mostly I'm glad that the writers have given her a reason to change that as a true and genuine vibrates instead just take it easier on Jin-hee because Chang min tells her. I hope that this trend for mom goes on, and that she is a better person from this tragedy.
Chang-min is also a different man in this episode. He sees hardly anyone in the eye and hardly speaks, and it seems as if the one-two punch of Jin-hee rejection and loss of his father beat him. Knowing Chang-min, I expected more anger rages, but since it is just hit so very hard to watch. It is interesting that, as Jin-hee Recalls Chang-min, this whole episode spends (and the previous one as well) to tell her leave; leave the waiting room, leave the funeral, leave him alone, even though he is sick. He is not even mad; I think he just trying to fulfill their wishes and give her the space she requested. I also think a lot of it is his attempt to spare her grief; I do not know if he really understands how close she was to his father.
On the other hand, tragedy brings people closer together, and Jin-hee seems to be finally try to get closer to Chang-min, if only there at a difficult time to be for him. I hope that if something good from Papas death comes, it is that people recognize in our history that you appreciate people while you have it is. Life is too short to push people away who love you, no matter what form that love takes, even if it is love for a person to a group, with which you once shared together hopes for future , reach See Jin-hee and try to make a connection with Chang-min, is a good thing; I've been waiting for weeks to take with him on some level an active role, rather than just tell him to keep his distance in making peace.

They can then either forward together or separately - but none of them will really be able to move and have a healthy relationship with someone until they sort things out among themselves.
But for the first time since the beginning of the show, I feel like they will be able to support each other and get through this together, one way or another.
