Recap and reviews korean drama Modern Farmer: Episode 20 (Final) -

There is a cute, sweet finale to a nice, sweet show that is exactly what I would expect from a drama that from the beginning has been strong character-driven. Although not all of our questions are answered, we know enough to know that the boys and their newfound friends and family will be quite good, as time goes by, bickering, arguments and all. And they never stop dreaming big, whether the addition of music, cabbage, or above.

EPISODE 20 RECAP

Soo-yeon takes Han -chul hospitalized after his collapse, where his doctor (who was banished to the country for a pharmaceutical scandal) takes them earlier for not hospitalizing him to task. She is shocked, he can be heard in the final stages of liver cancer, and that his time has expired.

Han Chul wakes up and the doctor goes for his test results, but Han Chul do not want to hear it and usher Soo-yeon from there. He does not know that Soo-yeon talked to the doctor and he swears he's fine, just hungry. Soo-yeon begins to cry and tells him that she knows everything, sobbing that he would simply disappear, and she never knew what happened.

Back in Hadurok-ri, scold the boys that they cabbage all year grew when it was the money in order among their territories and Sang eun gets an idea. It checks the video that it will have the guys kept for the money, and calling a TV station.

Soo-yeon crying all the way home, elicit weak jokes from Han-chul, he is happy that he see them cry, but he tells her sober, he happily made them see, and kept him going. He thanks her for the happy memories and promises not to forget them, even after he dies.

Mi-ja finds Soo-yeon crying after he goes, and it can now lead her to think that she actually likes Han Chul, before they burst in real sob. Around the corner, listen Han Chul they cry and barely stifled his own wail of grief.

Later that day, Sang-eun comes screaming say in all, to turn the news, where the whole sordid story is told about the money, complete with their video. Min-ki is surprised that her whole song has been shown, as it has nothing to do with the money, but apparently was Sang-eun state to rotate in the video. Now their song will be played on all stations - free advertising

Haha, the boys are excited that this will help sell their salted cabbage, as her band. How have changed their priorities. They even get an interview with a news anchor, and spend the whole time talking about their carbon.

Later noticed Min-ki, that Han Chul kind of down appears, although he denies it. Soo-yeon borrows Han Chul for the day to take it on a day so that the guys tease him, and she takes him into town for coffee.

Although he finally got what he wanted, Han Chul is nervous and worried, but Soo-yeon has happily everything with him that he wants to do before he dies. He gives his phone with his bucket list over, and they noted that almost all of them have to do with a friend. The first thing on the list - couple rings.

The other three bandmates are visited by a music agency representatives, who clearly explained that the CEO seen them on TV and want to sign it. The guys are so shocked, she can hardly react, but it finally sinks in and celebrate exuberantly.

Soo-yeon apologizes to Han Chul for only able to be candy to make rings, which is open adorable style. Check the list for Han Chul next request, and both freeze a little, to see that it is to kiss his girlfriend. Soo-yeon scoots past by kissing him when they go on a trip, but Han Chul disillusioned and tells her to stop now.

He says quietly that they should start as him a better man, and that if she keeps this up just makes him want to live. That's so sad. He stated that he wanted her to like him, but now that she does, he regretted it.

He gives his tears as he says that, when he dies, she will be left alone to cry, but Soo-yeon assures him that she is happy, that he liked her. Without the right words to comfort him, Soo-yeon only Han Chul hugs while he cries.

In his office, Han Chul doctor has no luck finding him his test results to give him, and wonders how someone in terminal cancer could get so much better just miraculously raise (hand if you called it). He wonders why Han-Chul as expired, and whether it is somewhere dramatically crying. Cut to - Han Chul Soo-yeon and in a church, crying dramatically. Soo-yeon asks Han-Chul, at least to try treatment, and he agrees.

The guys with Yoon-hee family to celebrate all their new album, although everyone is serious when Sang-eun Recalls that they Hadurok-ri would soon leave. Small Min-ho asks not to go, and Min-ki promises to visit often, it is with a pinky-swear seal.

Soo-yeon wants Han Chul immediately go to hospital for treatment, but he first asks to stop at the barber. If he is going to lose his hair from chemo, he can shave it now all gone. It is too much for Soo-yeon when the barber starts with the clippers, and she's going to cry a little more outside.

Han Chul doctor just happens to walk by and recognize Soo-yeon, and he tells her of Han Chul miraculously test results. Unfortunately, it is too late Han Chul to save the hair, but it is still excited. The doctor writes Han Chul improving living clean (and eat all raw cabbage) in the country, but reminded him that he still is not quite well and still need treatment.

Han Chul Soo-yeon walks at home that night, both in high spirits. Soo-yeon suggests that they do not now have to meet another man, and they can continue Han Chul bucket list. RAWR . She plants a kiss on him so good that his eyes cross and his toes.

Yoon-hee uncle to makgeolli pretty drunk and whining about how much he missed the boys, and aunt to take him to bed. Han Chul comes like a loon laugh at home, cryptic tweeting that life is beautiful, and he is happy to be alive. Min-ki roars to cut his hair to him when they are going to make an album, the news is Han Chul, and his best day gets better still.

Yoon-hee goes to feed the cows, but Min-ki notices something is not quite right, and follows her to the barn. He thanked her for her help and support, and she tells him to make it go big and it is him here cheering on. They dance to the awkwardness between them, as Hyuk observed from afar and told them both fools.

morning watch the boys of the village and remember all their special moments in Hadurok-ri, good and bad. You decide to donate the rest of the coal to the needy, and to help the villagers in their last days in the city.

Hyuk and Min-ki depend to speak again, and Hyuk says that he wants to see Yoon-hee happy, but there is only one person who can do that. He scolds Min-ki, when he still does not get that Hyuk talks about him, but Min-ki gets only thoughtful and says he does not know what he feels.

Hyuk sighs about idiots who do not know the love of pity, and lays it out for Min-ki - Love is when you're happy when she is happy that makes your heart hurt when she sad, and who want to lean on you when you are struggling. He leaves Min-ki, thinking about it, and Min-ki remembers the times with Yoon-hee, when he felt these things.

Apparent something Min-ki grins to himself and to realize heads to Yoon-hee house. She's outside with Min-ho, and assured him that Min-ki visit as he has promised. They are both surprised when Hyun-suk turns up, of all people, and he sits up to Min-ho to speak.

He asks haltingly Min-ho, if he was disappointed, and apologizes to him. He asks if he can hug him and Min-ho nods, and father and son both cry as they embrace for the first time. Hyun-Suk again and again apologizes, and asks Yoon-hee for a chance for its failure to do well. From the other side of the wall, we see that Min-ki has overheard this whole exchange, and he is disappointed, but they can on their privacy.

Yoon-hee talks later with her family, not sure what to do about Hyun-suk desire and Hong-gu tells her that he wants her with him again would come together. Her uncle is true to say that Min-ho a father needs, but Aunt forces them make their own choices.

At bedtime Han Chul and Ki-joon assume that Yoon-hee is back with Hyun-suk, because he is rich and famous, not to mention that he min-ho father. Hyuk they shushes, knowing their conversation disturbs Min-ki, who says a word.

The day before they are to leave the city, at breakfast, the mood is somber and Yoon-hee leaves the table early. She finds Hyun-suk with Min-ho in the school gym to play, and he says he'll come every day until she accepted him. He says he is leaving abroad in a month to go, and asks her to go with him, in an eerie re-enactment of their previous farewell, but Yoon-hee seems reluctant to give him an answer.

Min-ki finds Yoon-hee in the barn, where they do all their best thinking, and has to be willing to listen. She asks if it falls with Hyun-suk and Min-ki smiling happy act and tells her to go flat-out, which does not, he does not want to go.

But he withdraws and jokes that he would have no one to taunt when they leave, while Min-ho needs his father. He says that what she wants to do is what is important, and leaves before he emotionally get.

Min-ki lies awake that night, and Hyuk heard him sigh and asks if he just let go like this. Min-ki says only that when Yoon-hee goes, it is for her and Min-ho, also be better. Hyuk, he says too many movies has seen, and he does not seem as cool as this.

Almost the entire town becomes the morning of to adopt the boys, and they often promise to visit (Grumpy Uncle: "Why would you stay over? da. "Awww). Man-gu drives in the car until he Min-ki and buy, say it is too cold to drive a convertible, the car returns and burst into tears adorable.

Min-ki takes a moment to say goodbye to Min-ho, and teases Yoon-hee, who looks them in ugly with the serious face. He gets in the car and Hyuk asks him one last time, if he can really leave without confessing his feelings, but Min-ki smiles that he has done already in his heart, and he will only pray for the rest.

Some time later, aunt comes to Yoon-hee to talk while she grabs a suitcase. Yoon-hee says she does not know whether it is doing the right thing, and aunt recalls that to be for Min-ho, happy, his mother must be happy. Yoon-hee goes to her room and finds the face cream that Min-ki gave her, and running his fingers over an old carving in their shelf that says "Min-ki loves Yoon-hee."

Modern farmers album sells well, and soon they will give a concert. Min-ki she stops in front of the stage is it a peptalk to give, to say that this is about nothing to hundreds of thousands of carbon, hee raising. They roar simultaneous FIGHTING! and go into the limelight.

The concert goes well, and they are on Cloud Nine thereafter ( "We are better than FT Island!" HA) but Min-ki stop if it is down looking at the lobby and sees Yoon-hee and min-ho to leave the venue. He sends the boys to met their fans and said, then he go somewhere.

Yoon-hee and Min-ho ponders board a bus back home, and Yoon-hee how comfortable Min-ki looked on stage. Min-ho wonders when he will visit them, but Yoon-hee says he is busy and not be too disappointed.

Min-ho sad for a moment, but then he notices something, and Yoon-hee looks out of the window on the glass a manuscript in the frost to see: "Yoon-hee loves Min-ki." Min- ki she looks with hopeful eyes, and they stay there for a long moment, smiling at each other.

A year later

Min-ki on the couch sets with Yoon-hee home, strumming his guitar and grow a really weird goatee. His now-wife Yoon-hee comes home and immediately lit playing around in it and does not work. Apparently the band has flopped after their first album and she chides him over for not reality, and she tells him to go back the money that Han Chul borrowed from them, because cash is tight. Good to see the bickering around, has not changed!

business is slow at the Yeon Chul and boutique, and Han Chul chomps grumpily raw cabbage when he a few of the village shop watches. Man-gu keeps his familiar pinch as In-ki and Soon-blessing looking at baby clothes, embarrassed to expect a brother who is younger than his own son. Hee, this family is so strange. An upset Soo-yeon delivers the bad news that the landlord wants to rent another ten grand in how Han Chul a call from Ki-joon in Yanbian gets to borrow more money to ask.

eeeee , Ki-joon and Bul-ja are married and expecting a baby! Only this time it's Ki-joon, who is the illegal workers, and HAHA, his nickname among the locals is "Bul-yes" and now he wears his hair long to cover his face. Han-chul is a no-go, and they try Hyuk next, but he has no money either.

Hyuk goes back to his patients Opa proves, in the hospital for a blood sugar spike too many candy bars. He says Sang-deuk (who wears matching sweatshirts with Mi-young and little Eun-woo) to limit Opas chocolate bar Shot, but Eun-woo objects because then they will not eat the almonds they get always gets when Grandpa candy has bolt. Ewwww.

Ramyun will be reduced

AWW, Min-ki's album to a pot, and uncle jokes that it is still useful at least for some. Min-ki swears his second album will be a hit, and they will all regret it treated him in this way, and the whole family scoffs at him.

A news story starts Min-ki attention to a school of rare tuna in the area, worth tens of thousands of dollars apiece. He gets a familiar glint in his eyes as he does some quick math, and starts furtive phone calls to his friends to make.

The next thing you know, they are all on the same boat together, planning a series of tuna catch and make another album. HAHA. Min-ki says it will be easy to just throw a line and pull in the tuna, no problem. But they can still return more bitten than they can chew, as a tuna jump higher than their boat overhead out of the water and sailing.

What kind of a nice end to a total and fun show. I will not do the show so, had not his weaknesses and plot holes (whatever happened to Snake, and Min-ki debt to him? You know, the whole reason they primarily on the land to farm Kohl went), but for the most part it was a sweet, adorable show with characters that will stay with me for a very long time. In fact, I think it's the wonderful characters that the show kept going when plot as there not much was going on, because even if we watched play over and over again (how many times the same scenes can we observe a girl for buried treasure dig, anyway?) I never get bored, because the characters were so lovable self.

was a lot of that in the casting, which I think for the most part, was absolutely right. Specifically Honey Lee that I said never more than just a decent actress struck me, really blew my socks off as Yoon-hee. She had to just pull out the right presence and vulnerability, the location of the town matriarch, who is also an insecure single mother who invariably strengthens their friends and neighbors but their confidence falters when it comes to their own decisions. They know that an actress has done its job, if you can not imagine anyone else in this role, and I can not see honest, someone else to do Yoon-hee justice that Honey Lee did. I do not know what changed for Honey Lee, but I very much hope this is just the beginning for them and that their actions continue to improve depth and win. If what we have seen in Modern Farmer is not by chance (and I can not imagine a random period of 20 episodes!), I am pleased to see much more of her.

Lee Hong-ki put in an expectedly solid performance as immature rockers who learns about life, friendship and love, when he learns cabbage on the farm, and I really loved his portrayal of min-ki. I always have the feeling that he was a strong actor, and this show has given me no reason to change this opinion. My only complaint is its lack of chemistry with Honey Lee, because while I thoroughly noona / dongsaeng relationship enjoyed their bickering, I. Any romantic connection between them feel have not always I mean, I saw they discover the movements for each other feelings to go, but I never really felt it. Perhaps it is why, for a while there, I was hoping that the show would tip the first love trope on its head and allow it to get the girl, the second line. I felt that Yoon-hee and Hyuk had a lot more chemistry together when Hyuk did on the camera that much the ability to do with Park Min-woo to give all or said multiple layers of depth and meaning. You could see from the beginning that Hyuk a complicated character, despite his tendency was all fine to smile and pretend, and I wanted to be rewarded for its eventual opening Yoon-hee.

Anyway, my overall impression of the end of Modern Farmer is overwhelmingly positive. As I said from the first episode, we do not have to reinvent, no wheels, but we have a show that gave us exactly what we were here - laughs, heart, some life lessons, and a few good screams. I loved the whole city Hadurok-ri and all the weird and stupid driving, and never got tired when the whole village would band together to solve some "big" problem. While the stakes were never very high, they always felt very rich, because the villagers were always so involved in their city and their neighbors.

But the best thing of all was that we got some of the best characters I have ever seen in a Drama, from leads to the smallest of the players. Every single character in this show has to grab me and to care for them, and that is no small feat for a drama with such a great cast. Each and every villager felt like a real (although exaggerated) person you could meet and go to the land, and I loved how they enveloped and contain our four boys in the city and in their lives. I'm sad to see them go, but I have a feeling I'll Hadurok-ri and its weird and wonderful inhabitants again very soon revisiting.
