Hello again Drama fans! This is purplecow , back after a long break recapping. Kill Me, Heal Me is a "healing romance" between the third generation chaebol with multiple personalities and the first year resident psychiatrist who are with each and have each of them do. The first episode started a little rocky, but found his step, a credible introduction to our characters administration, their relationships and the world they inhabit. So far, the show seems to be a good balance between the real psychological trauma to beat our hero suffers and the comedic screw-ups and hilarious misunderstandings arising. And while I feel for our confused hero, I can not wait to see what his bad-guy alter ego will get to the next. To break the guyliner and ready for a good time!
EPISODE 1 RECAP
Our history begins with a stylized flashback and newspaper clippings that runs us the Broad chaebol family Seungjin Group, and its chain of tragedies. First, the chairman and his daughter-in-law are killed in car accident, and then his son, marked to assume, is, in a suspicious house fire killed.
Fortunately saved the grandson of the fire and is growing in our hero, CHA DO-hyun. Suspicious this newspaper clippings are collected, analyzed and written by an unseen figure on a wall.
We have our first look at our adult heroes get ( Ji Sung ), playing on an American football team while studying abroad. When his friend tells us, Do-hyun is too good to his own good. Dozens of extracurricular groups want to accompany him, he's too nice to know every one of them to turn down.
A classmate asks Do-hyun some papers to another to transfer students, Jennifer, who have not been in a few weeks at school. He agrees and comes to Jennifer's house, where he heard sounds of a disturbance. Jennifer's father gives her a vicious beating, and when Do-hyun attacks, he gets beat.
The shock of the attack triggers a memory of being trapped in a room, when Do-hyun was younger, advancing with a shadowy figure on him. His eyes flash purple, back to the present, but before anything happens the police arrive. Ask Jennifer, they attacked, for them to do just that Do-hyun sinned and her father saved her. Do-hyun is by the police, to protest the whole way.
When Do-hyun returns to his apartment, a close associate, chief Ahn calls after receiving the police report taken away. He says that Do-hyun does not know the family, what he has been accused, and that he would soon things come to clarify.
Do-hyun is too busy to answer the phone. He searches for the medicine in the bathroom, but he can not take place in time. The memories of his childhood trauma flash intermittently, his pupils dilate, and finally cease to be shivering. His mouth curves up in a grin that spells trouble-looks like Do-hyun is not saying more.
now calm and sporting a trendy look, Do-hyun Alter Ego heads outside. He returns to Jennifer house and cold, beats the crap out methodically the violent father. When he's done, he bends over and warns that if the man ever touched her again, he'll come back and to break every bone in his body. Jennifer begins his view from the second floor and mouths "Thank you."
Do-hyun wakes confused, still wearing the outfit until he went in. Chef Ahn comes to Do-hyun apartment, taking in Do-hyun cuts, bruises and new fashion choices, and asks what happened.
But Do-hyun can not remember anything. "I realized it first, then," says Do-hyun in voiceover, as we have a flashback of him choking see someone we do not recognize. "The fact that I had to live in me a monster."
We see Do-hyun explain this in a flashback to a therapy session, and he identify each of his personas: Shin Se-gi is the forceful personality, although Do-hyun is quick to assure the neurologist that he only fights when he's angry, and would never harm women or children.
Because take his multiple personalities on his mind and body, Do-hyun can never remember what happened after he loses control. In a memory we will always see him a tattoo of the Latin words in the middle of waking up for "death alone."
Then we see Do-hyun trouble a woman he can not remember meeting because he first made her acquaintance as one of his alter egos. The woman throws water in his face and obvious that they do not is not enough, because we later see bats steer it to bind and dunk him repeatedly in a water trough. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, I think. The poor guy.
Do-hyun was diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder four years ago, also called multiple personality disorder, but he has found no reliable way to treat them. He did not know the exact number of individuals, but in addition to the violent Se-gi there is Perry Park and Yo-sub, the latter of whom has tried to commit suicide more than once. I was afraid.
now thoroughly confused, the psychiatrist stated that he can not help Do-hyun. "But you said you have treated patients with D.I.D. Do-hyun objects before!". "I lied," replies the psychiatrist. Pfft. So Do-hyun has no choice but to drive away and wondered how many personalities are hidden in his psyche, just waiting for the opportunity to arise.
back to the present, Do-hyun asks Chef Ahn why he came to the States. It turns out that Do-hyun grandmother wants him back. This is a problem because Do-hyun has his mother and grandmother about his condition to tell. "How can I go in this monstrous state again?" He asks.
But the next thing we know, Do-hyun opens his eyes soon on a plane to find at Incheon Airport to arrive. His neighbor in the first class is our second line OH RI-ON ( Park Seo-joon ).
On Do-hyun phone, he finds a video addressed to him, taken by his alter ego Se-gi. Se-gi suggests that it. Time for Do-hyun, make an offer to his family successor Seungjin Group Adding insult to injury, he told him to change his shitty sense of style.
When a car approaches in the airport parking lot racing. The driver is OH RI-jin ( Hwang Jung-eum ) who receives a phone call from a reporter who wants to know whether they (a "omega-3 Crime" is the "Omega writer" mentioned was in the newspaper Oh Ri-one reading). The call sparks her temper, and she growls that it this will put an end today.
Do-hyun tried to arrange for a ticket back to New York, but he has intercepted by four men in suits who work for his grandmother, the former CEO of Seungjin Group. They are to accompany him to the parking lot when a cry is heard: "YAA". It is Ri-jin, pointing directly at Do-hyun
Do-hyun stiffened, thinking his alter ego has caused more problems. But Ri-jin charges right past Do-hyun for the guy behind him cowering: Oh Ri-on.
Ri-jin shakes Ri-on through the ears, to scream the reporters who were inundated with calls their phone. Ri-on brackets do on-hyun, asks him for help. Do-hyun tries Ri-jin get to calm down and talk things, but she tells him to push out.
"How long will you live my name?" Ri-jin requirements, still wailing on her brother. She says she is his identity to reveal here, but Ri-one manages a hand to her mouth to clap. "My sister is very sick," he says, pointing to his head. He begins to drag them to the doors while Ri-jin hilarious mimics a giant "O" and a "3" for omega 3. Do-hyun watches, speechless.
Ri-one drives along without a care in the world, although Ri-jin is still irritable. We learn that Ri on her twin brother, who won fame and fortune as a bestselling author of these omega-3 secrets. He has his own aura of mystery cultivated as "faceless" Schreiber, much to the consternation of his sister as a single point of contact for journalists.
An ambulance rolled when they reach the hospital, and the paramedics start a transport military man from the car to the hospital. Ri-jin takes an optimistic, cheerful voice and right on rushes.
The patient recognizes them, complaining between bouts of crying that he remained stuck again with her. Ri-jin keeps it calm to steer stopping only a few employees prepare to pump the man's stomach. She pulls her jacket, as they reveal the head from their medical coat them as actual psychiatrist and not mental patients they identify as has been acting.

Outside in his car, Ri-on digs in a pocket, a binder full of newspaper clippings exit to the Seungjin group and a picture of Do-hyun in his football uniform. Either he has a man-crush, or the plot is thickening ...
Do-hyun is in the family compound, where the staff around him to compiled welcome has. Chef Ahn is there, too, with a full entourage in tow. After eleven years, the prodigal son has returned.
Do-hyun mother and grandmother talking in another room. Oma Seo is the Seungjin Group CEO, and her relationship with her daughter-in-law seems antagonistic. Mom wants to know where Grandma someone out of hiding, to move it to a new nursing home, if Mom finds.
grandmother breaks her icy composure to grumble that Mama not the right to act so proud. Do-hyun mother she can be, but it is not officially on the family book. This is the moment, Do-hyun enters, interrupting the argument as his mother rushes over to flatter him.
The family sits for a luxurious yet awkward dinner down. The atmosphere is charged, react with granny with cold to Do-hyun, while his mother says. Do-hyun Alter Ego has a lot to do, because the grandmother has a whole list of conditions that "Do-hyun" supposedly her before they return ball. Do-hyun takes the call, even though the look he tells Chef ahn before collection is fascinating. The conversation is friendly on the surface, and Ki-joon invites Do-hyun made later for drinks at night. When he hangs up, but he laughs that innocent and clueless as ever Do-hyun.
Ki-joon father warns Ki-joon, to be on guard. Ki-joon not Do-hyun see as a real threat, but his father tells him to find Do-hyun weakness anyway.
Meanwhile advises Chef Ahn Do-hyun not for his multiple personalities to get treated in a hospital. This would expose his weakness to Ki-joon and others who want to have an influence on him to win. Do-hyun asks to find Chef Ahn Dr. Seok Ho-pil, the previously treated him in the US.
This is the doctor ( Go Chang-seok ), leading laps at which Ri-jin reported patient status. Unfortunately patients Ri-jin has escaped, leaving a note saying that she has gone to a "paradise", where they can bring with bright lights to express music and dance.

Ri-jin identifies himself as a doctor, but Do-hyun has been warned that she would say that. He remembers also at the airport to their antics when her brother at all known that she was sick in the head. He begs her to calm down and grabs her by the hood when she past him shoulders.

Outside of the barn is a Clubber studded jacket, earrings and a year's worth of guyliner. He roars Se-gi screwed up for his makeup. Se-gi sees him only up and down, checked the outfit, and says:
Se-gi takes to the dance floor "That's exactly my style." with his new subjects, walking past Ki-joon unawares. In the bathroom, someone the man whose clothes Se-gi steel calls to bring about "the boys", and says that ecstasy is in his stolen jacket. Uh-oh.
Ri-jin has their patients successfully addressed, but their conscience reminds them of the man she napped in the club. She sends before the ambulance and goes back to check on him. When they reached the entrance, they will not be noticed by Se-gi foot. He grabs her by the arm.
While Ri-jin wonders why he changed his outfit, Se-gi pulls her sleeve back at her watch show. If the clock face hour shows, Se-gi tells her this time to remember ". January 7, 2015 22:00 The time that I fell for you."
Romantic music starts to play ... and Ri-jin can not be controlled and pushes a half-laugh, half-shrieking. She wonders if he's the kind of man who for women who rough him is tightened. Before they can make their escape good, arrive a few guys in motorcycles and surround Se-gi. Ri-jin wonders how quickly the mood of the romantic comedy action changed while the leader deliberately goes out of the bathroom to Se-gi.
"Take it off!" He Tells Se-gi. Ri-jin thinks And now erotic ?! HA! Se-gi retorts, "Try it to me." Ri-jin: Or bromance Ri-jin tries to talk sense into him, but he refuses and the fight begins, and Se-gi takes out? Bat eight or so, without even smudging his makeup.
He thrashes handy with acrobatic kicks and the strategic use of a stolen Club, then calmly walks towards Ri-jin. She yells at him to see, but it's too late, the leader hits him in the face with a two-by-four. Se-gi falls back, then we are cut to the DJ who is whipping into a frenzy of mass inside on the dance floor. It boosts the music ... and Se-gi pops up again, ready to finish the fight.
COMMENTS
What a fun first episode! I'm glad that it is so good to the end because I was certainly not sold at the beginning. The setting in an American university has me Heirs Flashbacks ( never a good thing), as well as the profanity laced scene beating of a white man cruelly an Asian woman. In addition, the cringe inducing English, and I'll be back in 2013 to watch all my hopes for a fantastic drama before my eyes crumble.
But this is Heirs, not Kill Me, Heal Me, and fortunately I did not have to wait three episodes this time in order to hell from the United States to get. There was only one question that annoyed me that the way the show Do-hyun first conversion in Shin Se-gi was treated. It was understandable, given the motives of his alter ego, he beat the crap out of the violent father, but what I took issue with was the daughter to thank him what he was doing. Beating a child molester and threatened him not the right way to ensure that he will not sacrifice his hurt again; in fact, it is more likely to drive him to further violence, to be seen as weak because of the stigma of the person he wants to have control over it.
It felt like the show was trying to introduce ourselves to the violent alter ego in a way of the hero, who want made us to anchor for him, but if that is true, then failed the show. The moment father about his anxiety gets or has a few drinks too much, he will whip with more violence. And even if he again his mind, Do-hyun has not tried to talk to Jennifer or help her to overcome her fear, so they real, might be looking for permanent protection. I know this to be primarily a romantic comedy, is meant, but the opening in each drama is important, and this left a very bad taste in my mouth.
Moving on. Once we leave America, thank God, I'm back on board (if only that was done with Heirs ). I loved the sequence Do-hyun returned to Korea when he learns that Se-gi has set his sights on his family company. And if Ri-jin the image I entered completely sold. Hwang Jung-eum brings a great energy to their character and emphasizes its openness, but also its expertise. She does not hide her frustration with her brother (quite the contrary), but when it comes time to do their work by endorsing a professional appearance and treated with class. There is much that we still have to learn, whether it is the family of the dynamics within Do-hyun, the specifics of his past traumas and his alter egos, or Ri on motivations. But we have enough to where curious, and after an hour I am enough a fan of Do-hyun and Ri-jin that I want them to overcome the obstacles they have to make sure to go in the coming weeks.
in this episode My favorite moment was definitely Ri-jin observation about the mood outside the club from romantic comedy to change to action, with a hint of eroticism with the whole jacket followed misunderstanding. It was more than a great comedic beat-it is a statement about the potential of the show as a whole. all struggling with such different personalities for primacy within Do-hyun, we never know what genre we could at any time be in time.
Shin Se-gi, as we know, can turn each scene in a fight scene, and we have also learned that he hopes to spark a succession battle in the style of a corporate thriller. Then we have the suicidal personality, which could at any moment to hard core melo transition, and a number of personalities, we have yet to meet. Add that to the romance that the design seems already to be up, and the potential is almost unlimited.
If Kill Me, Heal Me can play all these genres of today, remain ironically aware themselves in the same way that Ri-jin the mood before the fight teachings could this show to something big. But even if this were not the case, I believe we are still in an exuberant and enjoyable ride.
